Accountant Role

About the role, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to manage financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • They will also oversee payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payment of salaries and wages.

The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be able to identify trends and opportunities in financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Oversee all aspects of payroll processing.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements accurately and on time.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing financial processes and systems.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role.
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting is essential.
  • Solid experience with payroll processing and related legislation is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparing and lodging BAS is necessary.
  • Experience with accounting software is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proactive and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (CA/CPA preferred).
  • Experience in the solar industry or related field is a plus.
