Lead Cultural Inclusion

This is a pivotal role in leading the development and delivery of culturally inclusive resources and programs that respect the value of Koorie culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and review services and programs for Koorie students, including student support models and curriculum input.
  • Develop, deliver and review the Koorie Student Support Program, providing holistic, wrap-around support to Koorie students.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to provide Aboriginal cultural perspectives on employment, professional development and course curriculum.
  • Represent the organisation externally, building and maintaining partnerships with major Aboriginal organisations, networks and groups.
  • Implement priorities to ensure organisational outcomes are achieved.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification and/or substantial experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples in a support or education environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander culture and established connections with local Community and Aboriginal businesses and organisations.
  • Connection with senior members and Elders of local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Community and key connection points for local guidance and advice.
  • Understanding of Aboriginal protocols and ability to effectively consult, negotiate and communicate with Aboriginal Councils, Elders and communities.
  • Experience designing wellbeing programs/initiatives and leading teams/stakeholders in their delivery.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams in a large organisation.
