About the RoleAs a Senior Tax Adviser at Ethos BeathChapman, you will be part of a high-performing team delivering exceptional technical advice and managing the Australian reporting obligations for GST and Insurance Duty of the Group.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to Strategic Tax Planning: Prepare material position papers for review and sign off by the Manager – GST or Head of Tax. Contribute to Board papers on indirect tax issues as required. Provide internal reporting on tax matters, tax paid, and detail of tax positions.
- Drive Process Improvement: Champion process improvement and change management initiatives, including a focus on improving the use of existing or proposed tax technologies.
- Ensure Tax Governance: Adhere to Ethos BeathChapman tax risk appetite statement and tax governance standards. Operationalise, implement, and enhance the Group tax internal control structure.
- Build Strategic Relationships: Grow and maintain strategic business relationships across the group and with advisers, ATO, and revenue and industry bodies.
- Lead Tax Compliance: Assist the GST Manager to operationalise an internal 4-year rolling audit, to enable proactive identification and rectification of GST and insurance duty risks and opportunities.
- Develop Tax Expertise: Provide training and guidance to Tax Advisors in technical, research, and advice preparation skills.
- Qualifications: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law (or similar) - Mandatory
- Professional Certifications: CA or CPA qualified or Masters of Taxation – Desired
- Industry Experience: 5+ Years experience in corporate tax consulting either within a large corporate or big 4 firm
- Tax Consulting Experience: Demonstrated tax consulting and advice experience
- Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Office or equivalent
