Anton Murray Consulting is representing a prominent global financial institution in their search for a Tax Team Leader within their Tax division. This pivotal role will report directly to the head of the department and play a key role in ensuring the precise delivery of reporting and calculation services.
The successful candidate will possess over 5 years of experience in the financial services sector, with a strong focus on tax compliance, particularly in areas such as managed investments, trusts, insurance, and superannuation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the review of taxable income calculations for various entities including managed investment schemes, superannuation funds, life insurance companies, and listed investment companies.
- Support the Tax Accountants by providing training, mentorship, and professional development under the guidance of the Team Leader.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of client services.
- Address client and audit inquiries promptly, escalating issues to the department head as necessary.
- Conduct thorough testing of templates and processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain up-to-date and standardized procedures and documentation for tax services.
- Implement formal supervision and controlled self-assessment testing of procedures and deliverables in line with the established risk management framework.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Australian financial services industry.
- Extensive experience in tax compliance, particularly with managed investment schemes, insurance, and superannuation funds.
- Relevant qualifications as a Qualified Accountant or Tax Specialist.
- Proven track record of managing client relationships and coordinating with auditors during year-end processes.
- History of fostering collaboration and enhancing service delivery.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
