Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of a site-wide Health, Safety and Wellbeing Improvement Plan. The role requires effective partnership with hospital executive teams, managers, supervisors, and health and safety committees to deliver the plan.

This position involves providing technical advice and support to drive compliance with health, safety and wellbeing strategies, management systems, regulatory frameworks, and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement coaching programs to enhance accountability for safety amongst managers, supervisors, and health and safety committee members.
  • Promote health and safety practices through active leadership and engagement in the workplace.
  • Implement safe systems of work and quality incident investigations, and lead education, coaching, and monitoring programs.
  • Consult with stakeholders on operational safety issues and provide advice on opportunities and solutions that enhance health and safety outcomes.
  • Participate in risk management activities, including facilitating risk assessments, contributing to the development of standard operating procedures, conducting control verifications, participating in assurance activities, and leading loss time injury investigations.
  • Monitor and review site health and safety performance with executive teams to identify trends, hotspots, and celebrate success.
  • Participate in regulator inspections related to health and safety.
  • Contribute to national delivery of strategic programs and initiatives, forums, and advisory committees to drive health and safety improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in health and safety or a related field.
