Job Summary

We are seeking a Head of Compliance ANZ to implement, manage, and oversee compliance with local regulatory requirements and Assurant Corporate Compliance programs in Australia and New Zealand.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Compliance APAC to ensure effective relationships with regulators such as APRA, ASIC, RBNZ, FMA, and ACCC. They will also manage relationships with industry bodies like the ICA and institutions like AFCA and IFSO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage the VSC ANZ Branch's compliance program and provide adequate oversight of the implementation of compliance processes and protocols.
  • Provide assistance to senior management and other key stakeholders on compliance matters to ensure the business is acting in accordance with relevant financial services laws and AFSL/RBNZ conditions.
  • Develop and maintain the ANZ Branch Compliance Manual(s) and ensure it is updated to meet regulatory and licence conditions changes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a 2nd line ANZ Assurance plan covering all business lines.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree qualification in business, finance, commerce, or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 7 years' experience in a Compliance Officer or Manager role or other comparable experienced professional.
  • Experience within a niche or composite insurance company, bank, or professional services firm.
  • Membership of a professional body such as the GRC Institute for compliance professionals.
Salary Estimate

The estimated salary for this role is between AU$150,000 - AU$200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
