A solid background in legal principles, combined with 5+ years of experience in risk and compliance roles within the custodian, managed investments, or corporate trustee sectors, is highly desirable.

This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute to the development of the organisation's risk management framework, partnering with senior leaders to drive effective risk activities across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and embedding the 2nd Line of Defence, in accordance with the Risk Management Framework.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Risk Awareness and Management: Driving awareness and effective management of operational risks, compliance requirements, and controls, including involvement in business and regulatory initiatives, change management, and projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Developing outstanding relationships with stakeholders to collaboratively drive change and deliver value, promoting a positive risk culture.
  • Compliance Framework: Ensuring the Compliance Framework adequately addresses identification and recording of compliance obligations, monitoring compliance, incident management, training, and governance.
  • Risk and Compliance Frameworks: Maintaining and implementing risk and compliance frameworks and related policies across the business.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with:

  • A Legal background / LLB Degree (Highly desirable)
  • Over 5 years' experience in financial services risk and compliance roles.
  • Experience within Custody, Managed Investments, and/or Asset Management or Corporate Trustee businesses (preferred)
  • Good understanding of Trustee ACL and AFSL regulatory obligations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of business processes, controls, and assurance

The estimated salary for this position is AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on experience. This represents a competitive package for a high-calibre professional in this field.
