Endeavor is a leading ocean data company that collects data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. We utilize a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) to achieve this.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for project survey data collection, ensuring data is collected to a high quality and efficiently.
Main Responsibilities
- Survey Planning - The Project Surveyor will be the technical lead within the project team responsible for planning the optimum strategy for data capture while meeting the client's scope of work.
- Survey System Setup - The candidate will be responsible for hardware (GNSS, INS, MBES) and software (QINSY/NAVAQ) configuration prior to vessel mobilisation on a project.
- Quality Control - The Project Surveyor will monitor the data being captured using online survey tools.
- Line Management - The candidate will lead a team of online surveyors.
- Continuous Improvement - The Project Surveyor will be responsible for leading the area of continuous improvement for survey.
- Online Surveying - The candidate will conduct online surveying on projects.
- Survey Results Assessment - The Project Surveyor will assess survey results and adjust the survey plan as required.
- Data Processing - The candidate will process and quality control survey data to create final deliverables to a high standard.
- Report Writing - The Project Surveyor will write reports and interact with customers.
Additional Responsibilities
- Quality, Environment, and Health and Safety - The candidate may be responsible for managing and maintaining Quality, Environment, and Health and Safety standards, including updating, implementing, and managing all ISO processes as appropriate to the role.
- Standard Operating Procedures - The Project Surveyor may be responsible for implementing, maintaining, managing, and updating all standard operating procedures and processes appropriate to the role.
Requirements
- Hydrographic Surveyor Qualification - The candidate must have a Hydrographic Surveyor Qualification – Cat A or Cat B.
- MBES Survey Experience - The candidate must have 10 years of MBES survey experience (hydrographic survey and assets inspections).
- Computer Literacy - The Project Surveyor must have strong computer literacy (configuration of sensor equipment required).
- Personal Attributes - The candidate must have an enthusiastic, positive, and proactive nature with a keen attention to detail.
Desirable Experience
- Data Acquisition and Processing - The candidate may have experience in data acquisition, processing, interpretation, and reporting of bathymetric data (using Norbit MBES and POS-MV).
- Marine Survey Data Acquisition and Processing Software - The Project Surveyor may have experience of marine survey data acquisition and processing software (e.g., QPS software, BeamworX software, etc).
- Relevant Marine Qualifications - The candidate may have relevant marine qualifications such as Yachtmaster, Coastal Skipper, ICC (or equivalent).
- People Management Experience - The Project Surveyor may have people management experience.
