Business Development Manager

We are seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to join our team and help fuel our expansion.

This is a broad and hands-on business development role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in fast-paced environments, and wants to play a key role in a company poised for major growth.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Identify and pursue opportunities with developers, civil contractors, and commercial builders
    • Build and maintain relationships across the construction industry in Queensland
    • Engage in face-to-face networking, site visits, outbound calls, and industry events to generate leads
  • Tender and Opportunity Management:
    • Monitor tender portals and industry platforms daily for new opportunities
    • Track all tender activity, including EOIs, RFQs, submissions, and outcomes
    • Liaise with internal teams to assist with pricing opportunities and managing submission timelines
  • Marketing and Brand Awareness:
    • Drive brand awareness through basic marketing activities, including updating capability statements, supporting photography and project write-ups, and representing the brand professionally at networking functions, site visits, and presentations
  • CRM and KPI Tracking:
    • Log all client interactions, meetings, leads, and project activity in the CRM or internal tracking system
    • Work toward clear performance KPIs, including number of new contacts made, meetings attended, tenders submitted, and follow-up for feedback
    • Provide weekly or monthly reporting to senior leadership

You should be highly self-motivated and driven by achieving tangible growth results. You must be entrepreneurial and adaptable, with a hunger to be part of something growing. You should also be able to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities, be commercially savvy with an understanding of the construction lifecycle, and confident in networking and building relationships with professionals at all levels.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a business development client relationship or sales role preferably in construction, civil, or a related field
  • Understanding of tendering and project workflows for commercial-scale construction
  • Strong interpersonal skills, presentation, and written communication
  • Ability to think creatively about where and how to source new business
  • BASIC Familiarity with marketing tools, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office
