At our Northparkes operation

We have innovative, technical and collaborative people. The operations include block caving, sub-level caving and open pit and was the first mine in Australia to use the block cave mining method.

About the role

The primary responsibility for this role is delivering mine planning, design and scheduling tasks for underground operations. This includes producing approved designs, managing rolling three-month plans, and supporting alignment across technical and maintenance teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering designs using CAD software
  • Communicating plans and schedules with stakeholders
  • Managing underground mining schedules using Deswik.Sched and Deswik.IS
  • Maintaining mine design files and plans (hardcopy, softcopy, CAD)
  • Mentoring engineers and graduates
  • Assisting with short-range forecasting and schedule designs
  • Maintaining health, safety and security standards across the workplace

About you

You will hold a recognized tertiary degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or Geological/Geotechnical Engineering, along with a manual driver's license. It is essential that you have underground hard rock mining experience, with strong skills in short- to medium-term mine planning and design.
