Job Title: Community Engagement Officer

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in community relations and stakeholder engagement, preferably within the renewable energy sector. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and media outlets to ensure effective communication and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce communication materials for various audiences, including websites, presentations, letters, flyers, briefings, and social media
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of community engagement events and marketing materials
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and community members, responding to inquiries, objections, and complaints in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain relationships with journalists from local and regional media outlets, draft responses to media enquiries, and lead the proactive writing of media releases
  • Develop online and in-person engagement tools and mechanisms (surveys, etc.)

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to design and produce engaging materials for diverse audiences. You should have gained experience in community relations or stakeholder engagement, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
