About this Opportunity

The organisation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join its Board of Directors as an appointed director.

The role will support the Board in driving business and digital transformation, showcasing the value of engineering in Australia's economic future, and addressing major societal challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of large-scale business and digital transformation at a senior level.
  • Guiding workforce and volunteer management models in membership organisations or with a significant volunteer base.
  • Providing strategic economic outlook and positioning, with contemporary knowledge of capital markets, institutional investment, and the future value of engineering in the Australian economy.

Desirable Personal Attributes

Leadership, integrity, curiosity and courage, interpersonal skills, communication skills, demonstrated passion and enthusiasm, instinct, and senior-level contacts are desirable personal qualities.

Diversity among directors is sought to bring different perspectives to the Board's deliberations. The organisation encourages applicants from all backgrounds and identities.

Term and Commitment

An initial term of 2 years with potential for re-appointment by the Board at its discretion.

Approximately 30 days per annum for meetings and preparation, excluding travel time, with 6 Board meetings per year and 1-2 quarterly sub-committee meetings.
