Job Title

Water Treatment Plant Operator - Key Role in Utilities Team

Federation Council seeks a Water Treatment Plant Operator to ensure safe drinking water access for communities.

  • Operate and maintain water treatment plants to meet council standards and Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
  • Conduct regular tests for proper plant operation.
  • Record treatment plant, reticulation, and reservoir operations and performance.
  • Keep daily diary of works, machine, and treatment plant operations.
  • Maintain buildings, pump stations, reservoirs, grounds, and other works in good condition.
  • Ensure safety signs are visible at all times.
  • Supervise staff and provide instruction on required work.
  • Communicate with Team Leader Water Treatment on plant performance and problems.
  • Repair and maintain equipment and liaise with Council staff.
  • Assist in sewerage reticulation system repairs as instructed.
  • Secure Council's water supply infrastructure including pump stations and reservoirs.
  • Maintain safety equipment in working order.
  • Train other staff members in treatment plant operation.
  • Work to operator, industry, and trade standards for best practice quality control.
  • Comply with NSW Health and Environment Department requirements and legislation.
