Water Treatment Plant Role

This permanent role focuses on ensuring the community has access to safe drinking water. You will operate and maintain treatment plants, conduct quality tests, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting, record information, and ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.

About the Job
  • Monitor and control water treatment processes to provide high-quality drinking water.
  • Perform regular equipment checks and carry out routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize plant efficiency.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly checks of the treatment plant, reticulation systems, and reservoirs to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Document all works, including operations, incidents, and maintenance activities, to maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities
  1. Operate and maintain Water Treatment Plants according to Council policies and Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
  2. Undertake routine maintenance tasks and troubleshoot problems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  3. Maintain accurate records of treatment plant performance, including water quality test results, maintenance schedules, and operational data.
  4. Collaborate with team members to achieve common goals and contribute to a positive work environment.
  5. Work safely and follow established procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  6. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment (Drinking Water) or equivalent.
  • Valid Class C driver's license, Confined Spaces Entry Accreditation, and Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Proven experience in water treatment plant operations and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
