National Procedural Safety Specialist

Key responsibilities of this role include leading and supporting procedural incident reviews and clinical risk assessments.
- Monitor and report on procedural safety metrics, adverse events, and patient feedback.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and quality improvement initiatives to enhance procedural safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote safe practices in procedural areas.
- Contribute to the Patient Safety and Clinical Quality Framework, focusing on procedural governance.
- Assist with data collection and reporting for benchmarking and national safety initiatives.
- Work with the National Clinical Governance Unit to align on strategic priorities, risk mitigation, and quality improvements.
Key Qualifications:
- Current registration with a relevant professional body.
- Recent experience as either an Educator, Quality Manager, Floor Coordinator, Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), or clinical leader with more than 5 years' experience overall.
- Experience in overseeing and managing a range of specialties within the peri-operative and/or procedural care settings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical governance principles related to procedural safety, clinical risk management, and healthcare governance frameworks.
- Advanced clinical expertise and skills, with extended practice informed by evidence-based methodologies.
- Ability to lead and contribute to multidisciplinary teams, including mentoring, problem-solving, and supporting safety and quality initiatives.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clinicians, managers, and governance teams.
