Health and Safety Leader

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to lead our health, safety, wellbeing and environment streams across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing best practice procedures, frameworks, policies and programs to minimize risk and enhance environmental performance.

About the Role:
  • Modeling best practice health and safety leadership by providing specialist advice, practical guidance and support to the Executive Team, Managers and Frontline Supervisors.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, including legislation, national and international standards and codes of practice.
  • Ensuring we maintain the highest possible health and safety accreditations.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing team of HSE professionals based around Australia.
Responsibilities:
  1. Providing strategic and operational oversight of our health, safety, wellbeing and environment streams.
  2. Developing and implementing long-term strategies to ensure regulatory compliance with ABF/AFP, Aviation Security and other industry requirements across all regions.
  3. Overseeing the identification and mitigation of hazards, reporting and investigating incidents, and monitoring the implementation of actions arising from investigations.
  4. Reviewing all high consequence events, including injury management, restoring control of the site, scoping the investigation, reviewing the investigation and organizing audit of improvement controls.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 15 years of experience in HSE roles, with a minimum of 5 in senior leadership.
  • Formal qualifications in WHS are essential.
  • Able to lead and mentor a group of HSE professionals based around Australia.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of occupational health and safety management and an understanding of the underlying principles.
