Job Title: Clinical Pharmacology Specialist

Job Summary:

A Staff Specialist with advanced knowledge and skills in clinical pharmacology and toxicology is required to provide expert clinical services to patients, outpatients, and those referred for consultation.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Assessment and management of patients admitted under the clinical pharmacology and toxicology unit
  • Specialist consultation and referral
  • Liaison with treatment providers and active participation in multidisciplinary settings
  • Supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and trainees
  • Contribution to research initiatives
  • Participation in out-of-hours services
  • Management and function of departments, including the PANDA and CPOT units
  • Provision of expert clinical advice to committees and services

The ideal candidate will possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent and demonstrated knowledge and interest in current contemporary clinical practice in clinical pharmacology/toxicology. Strong communication skills and effective team working are essential.
