Job Title: Cssd Instrument Technician

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team in a challenging role that involves the maintenance of medical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package/wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments with precision.
  • Collaborate with theatre teams, nurses, and surgeons to ensure efficient and safe processing of reusable medical devices.
  • Use and monitor Steam and Sterrad sterilizers to maintain strict infection control standards.
  • Process equipment both owned and from an external vendor through our Loans department.
  • Carry out all testing for equipment and reprocess endoscopy equipment.
  • Complete surgical set ups in preparation for surgery and transfer sterile items to appropriate departments.

This position requires lifting instrument trays up to 7.5kgs.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Certificate III in Health Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sterilization standards with sharp attention to detail.
  • High level of customer service skills with a passion for patient safety and healthcare excellence.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OH&S in the workplace.
