
Surgical Instrumentation Technician

We are seeking a skilled Instrument Specialist to join our team in the Central Sterilising Services Department. This permanent full-time position requires an advanced technician with extensive knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterilisation procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage daily activities in CSSD, supervising staff and ensuring quality assurance across all areas.
- Conduct competency assessments for Instrument Specialists and coordinate educational in-service training sessions.
- Participate in performance development appraisal processes and contribute to clinical risk management and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Maintain safe working practices and a safe working environment.
- Perform higher duties as required, including overseeing the education and assessment of Instrument Specialists.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services or equivalent qualification.
- Greater than four years' experience as an Instrument Specialist with extensive knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
- Extensive knowledge of sterilisation procedures and practices.
- Current National Criminal Record Check and Valid Working with Children Check.
- Compliance with immunisation policy.
