Operations Supervisor Role

The Operations Supervisor position at a logistics company involves overseeing floor operations to ensure optimal efficiency and effective allocation of resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily work requirements to achieve business objectives
  • Ensure freight is received, handled, and loaded correctly while maximizing vehicle utilization at minimal cost
  • Plan and coordinate freight to allocated trailers, ensuring all freight is loaded in assigned bays
  • Ensure loading of Dangerous Goods is carried out in accordance with industry regulations
  • Monitor Forklift Operators to ensure correct use of equipment
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety policies and legislation
  • People performance management skills
  • Understanding of freight handling processes and operational requirements
  • Ability to determine resource allocation to meet scheduled workloads

As an Operations Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics services. You will be responsible for overseeing daily work requirements, ensuring freight is handled and loaded correctly, and planning and coordinating freight to allocated trailers.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be required to monitor Forklift Operators to ensure they are using equipment correctly, and ensure that loading of Dangerous Goods is carried out in accordance with industry regulations.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety policies and legislation, people performance management skills, and an understanding of freight handling processes and operational requirements.

You will also need to be able to determine resource allocation to meet scheduled workloads, and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
