Project Coordinator

This role requires an individual with a strong background in project management and coordination.

  • Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining effective relationships with key partners and stakeholders, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • The incumbent will engage, supervise, and audit contractors in a professional manner to complete approved building and minor capital works.
  • Maintaining Council's building assets and services in an efficient, safe, clean, and operational condition is also a critical aspect of this role.
  • Development of high-quality documents to assist in construction and maintenance fields will be a significant component.
  • The person in this position will be responsible for ensuring a safe workplace for Contractors working on council assets at their direction.
  • Participating in the call-out roster over a designated 7-day period servicing out-of-hours call-outs is also required.

About You:

  • A Tertiary qualification and/or Trade qualification with several years' experience in the field or lessor formal qualifications with extensive experience in a similar position are desirable.
  • Familiarity with Local Government's role, responsibility, and challenges, as well as its relationships with other government departments and the community is essential.
  • The incumbent must hold a WHS/OHS recognised qualification min cert 4 to enable site auditing and supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing high-quality documentation and correspondence showing clear understanding of audience and the objectives of the communication is crucial.
  • High level of experience in construction project management principles and ability to plan and drive work through to completion within tight deadlines and budgets are highly valued.
  • Experience in engaging with stakeholders and undertaking consultation to meet project requirements is necessary.
  • A current red/white card - basic construction induction card, current Victorian Drivers Licence, and current Working with Children Check (Employee) are also required.
