The role of Senior Payroll Officer involves ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services for a diverse workforce. This position is ideal for someone looking to further their career in payroll within an environment that values expertise and encourages growth.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, encompassing personnel authorisation, tax documentation, and payment reconciliation.
- Review weekly and fortnightly timesheets for accuracy, including extended hours calculations.
- Calculate wages, salaries, allowances, leave entitlements, and final payments upon termination with meticulous attention to detail.
- Oversee the correct remittance of tax obligations and other employee deductions in compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Liaise effectively with external payroll agencies as required to maintain seamless payroll operations across different business units.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar payroll position where accuracy and reliability were paramount.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, to efficiently manage data and produce clear reports.
- Familiarity with Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting requirements and pay code setup processes within modern payroll systems.
- Exposure to ADP or similar payroll software would be advantageous but is not essential for success in this role.
- Excellent communication skills allowing you to build rapport across departments and explain complex information clearly when liaising with both internal teams and external agencies.
