Job Title: Asset Management Professional

The department is seeking a skilled Asset Management Professional to lead the development and implementation of a department-wide asset management strategy and alignment with maintenance and management plans.

This role will provide oversight over the Asset Management Accountability Framework attestation process, manage risks, issues, and operational performance of assets, and work with service providers, senior managers, and the Executive Director, Procurement and Property Service to lead advanced expertise and knowledge in asset management activities including strategic planning, acquisition, maintenance, and disposal, development of capital plans, and strategies to support high-level decisions that impact on the department's strategic asset management plan and objectives.

This is an ongoing, full-time opportunity for a subject matter expert in the area of asset maintenance, management, and facilities management. The successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification (engineering, asset management, facilities, service delivery, or contract management) and experience in developing and leading major policy initiatives in areas of asset maintenance and management, as well as knowledge of the Building Code of Australia Act and relevant Australian Standards regarding asset maintenance and management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a department-wide asset management strategy and alignment with maintenance and management plans
  • Provide oversight over the Asset Management Accountability Framework attestation process
  • Manage risks, issues, and operational performance of assets
  • Lead advanced expertise and knowledge in asset management activities including strategic planning, acquisition, maintenance, and disposal, development of capital plans, and strategies to support high-level decisions that impact on the department's strategic asset management plan and objectives
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (engineering, asset management, facilities, service delivery, or contract management)
  • Experience in developing and leading major policy initiatives in areas of asset maintenance and management
  • Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia Act and relevant Australian Standards regarding asset maintenance and management
  • Subject matter expert in the area of asset maintenance, management, and facilities management

It provides department-wide financial, procurement, and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.

About the Role:

This role leads the Asset Management team which is responsible for delivering efficient and timely asset management and facilities services that support the strategic planning objectives of the department, administer and contract manage service arrangements, and meet all statutory obligations in respect of asset management.
