About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Strategy Lead to join our team at Virgin Australia. As a key member of our cross-functional transformation program, you will play a critical role in driving network enhancements that deliver value to our customers and maximize benefits to the Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate opportunities for network and capacity deployment, including new routes and destinations, fleet deployment options, and strategic short-term flying.
  • Recommend and implement network actions to drive revenue and cost enhancements to the Group.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and implement potential network changes.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Network Management, Revenue Management, Alliances, Finance, Airport Commercial, Sales, Strategy, Network Operations, Flight Operations, Customer Service Delivery, Security, and Government Relations.
  • Use data modeling and in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis to provide evidence for proposed changes.
  • Develop business cases for presentation to senior leadership.
  • Continuously improve existing network analysis processes to drive efficiency and accuracy of forecasting.
  • Evaluate potential new industry data sources beneficial for network analysis.
  • Develop and implement Network Planning models or systems to assist with analysis.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years' professional experience in a Management Consulting, Commercial, or Aviation Network Planning role.
  • Experience in strategic planning, creating meaningful insights from multiple data sources, and delivering results to key stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working on projects is highly advantageous.
  • The ability to translate insight from analysis into tangible actions and recommendations.
  • The ability to prepare and deliver succinct, easy-to-understand presentations.
  • Experience in communicating effectively at all levels, including senior management.
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Tertiary qualification in Aviation, Business, Mathematics, Economics, or similar is desirable.
  • Expert user in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
