Senior Advisor - Fiscal Reform Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative fiscal reform initiatives and provide strategic advice to ensure the sustainability of the State's finances. As a Senior Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering projects that propose strategic solutions to improve resource allocation and efficiency for various government agencies.

About the Role

The Reviews and Reform team within the Policy and Budget Group spearheads ambitious fiscal reform projects and collaborates with NSW government agencies to optimise resource allocation and enhance service delivery efficiency. The team analyses and evaluates government expenditure, organisational structures, and service delivery to identify fiscal sustainability and strategic reform opportunities that inform evidence-based recommendations and advice to senior executives and Government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse and evaluate government expenditure, organisational structures, and service delivery to identify fiscal sustainability and strategic reform opportunities.
  • Develop and implement project plans to achieve specific objectives and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across government agencies to gather information, build relationships, and communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Provide specialist advice to shape and drive strategy and policy for fiscal improvement opportunities.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, accounting, finance, law, business, public policy or a related discipline.
  • Experience in project management, consulting, strategy development, financial due diligence, and analysis, or program and policy evaluation.
  • Ability to apply critical-thinking and problem-solving experience within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication skills to communicate complex information to senior stakeholders.
