Job Description

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an IT Coordinator to provide technical support to staff and prisoners at a maximum-security facility. The role involves enabling and supporting access to technology systems and hardware, providing technical advice and support to staff, and managing the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the prisoner network.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing critical support to staff and prisoners. The successful candidate will have demonstrated technical support expertise and ability to explain technical concepts to suit the audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice and support to staff in relation to departmental and local IT systems and hardware
  • Manage the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the prisoner network, prisoner computers and stand-alone systems to ensure compliance with local policy
  • Coordinate local IT related projects, working with contractors and stakeholders to deliver programs of roll out, maintenance and improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated technical support expertise and ability to explain technical concepts to suit the audience

- Desirable skills include: experience working with management systems including Microsoft Access/Excel and SQL based data, prison experience
