Job Title: Senior Health and Safety Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health and Safety Specialist to play a lead role in implementing our workplace health and safety strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to make a positive impact on the lives of our members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective health and safety plans and strategies across the organization
  • Provide expert advice on workplace health and safety matters, including risk assessments and compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Lead high-level advocacy on workplace health and safety issues, working closely with stakeholders to achieve better outcomes for our members
  • Design and deliver training programs for industrial officers on health and safety best practices
  • Collaborate with organizing teams to develop and support WHS organizing campaigns
  • BUILD strong relationships with Health and Safety Representatives, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Negotiate agreements and resolve disputes in a fair and transparent manner
  • Support the development of our union's overall organizing strategy

  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills, with experience in dispute resolution
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
