Job Title: Senior Sustainability Consultant Forestry

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our team in Australia.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum

Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is to provide support, education, and advice to site operations teams in regards to safety management processes. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing effective risk assessments, operational procedures, and work instructions;
  • Liaising with third-party site representatives to obtain key information and conduct joint risk assessments;
  • Driving established SHS consultation and communications processes;
  • Providing leadership and assistance in developing a safety culture and environment that is consistent across all safety-critical functions;
  • Establishing, implementing, and monitoring inspection and audit programs for sites, including maritime safety requirements.

This role requires a strong understanding of safety management systems and the ability to develop tactical plans to address safety issues. The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in OHS/WHS, incident cause analysis method (ICAM), and a minimum of three years of experience in an operational SHS environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Sustainability Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Providing guidance on road transport safety and compliance, NHVR regulations, and relevant state Main Roads authorities;
  • Assisting site personnel in developing site-specific risk assessments and operational procedures;
  • Conducting inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety management systems;
  • Reviewing and updating safety policies and procedures;
  • Providing training and coaching to site operations staff on SHS accountabilities;
  • Compiling monthly reporting on SHS performance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A tertiary qualification in OHS/WHS;
  • Incident cause analysis method (ICAM) certification;
  • At least three years of experience in an operational SHS environment;
  • Experience in implementing and managing safety management systems;
  • Heavy industry experience, preferably in forestry operations, mobile plant, and lifting;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Leadership skills;
  • Integrity;
  • Planning, prioritization, preparation, and problem-solving ability;
  • Performance-driven attitude.
