Job Title: Commercial Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Director to lead our commercial function and drive the development & expansion of our commercial team. The ideal candidate will have significant transaction experience across project financing and M&A within renewables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial team that supports all aspects of commercial work across the business, including M&A, financial modelling, financing, commercial due diligence, management reporting and business case development
  • Lead the day-to-day transaction processes (across procurement, financing and off-take) and upskill other team members on transaction processes
  • Support the Development Team, Project Directors and Project Managers with the commercial and financial modelling input needed to progress their projects
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing financial modelling function within the team
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, including banks, OEMs, contractors
  • Mentor all members of the team, providing constructive feedback and growing internal capability
  • Identify opportunities for learning and development and prepare an annual learning and development plan for the team
  • Support the annual goal-setting and biannual performance review process for your team.

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing major transactions, preferably project finance transactions
  • Demonstrated success leading teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to review and interrogate financial models
  • A passion for coaching and mentoring
  • Relevant Degree in Commerce, Economics, Law, Engineering or similar
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel interstate
  • Ability to plan and manage diverse projects
  • Highly developed research, analytical and presentation skills
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate problems and create an effective and detailed action plan
