Ombudsman - Financial Services Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Ombudsman to join our team at AFCA. As a key member of our decision-making team, you will play a critical role in resolving complex disputes and complaints in the superannuation sector.
Key Responsibilities- Make decisions on standard and complex complaints in accordance with AFCA rules and fairness principles
- Provide professional and technical leadership across AFCA, including coaching and mentoring Adjudicators, caseworkers, and others
- Develop AFCA approaches and present at external conferences as a subject matter expert
- Support AFCA's relationships with consumer groups, government bodies, regulators, AFCA members, and other stakeholders
- Legal qualifications and a significant track record of achievement at senior executive level within the superannuation industry or a related field
- Sound knowledge of financial services law, practice, and regulations
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to efficiently and independently handle a busy caseload
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Resilience, focus, determination, and excellent engagement skills
