Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Membership Clerk to join our team at Costco Wholesale Moorabbin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, processing new memberships, and maintaining existing ones.



Duties and Responsibilities



  • Welcoming and communicating with members and potential members in person, by phone, or by mail, answering questions, resolving problems, and explaining membership, warehouse, and credit programs.
  • Providing prompt and courteous member service, answering phone calls, checking item availability, directing members to product and service locations, and enlisting assistance for member loading or shopping.
  • Processing new memberships and membership maintenance, keying membership information into the computer, keeping logs and paperwork, and obtaining supervisor approvals when necessary.
  • Following safety and security procedures, verifying identity, business information for membership, and collecting membership dues.
  • Issuing membership cards using the computer, camera, and automated card printer, and issuing temporary cards by researching membership information in the computer and handwriting the card.
  • Keying credit applications, conforming to credit card company practices for verifications, confidentiality, access, and discretion.
  • Assisting at the refund counter or with marketing as necessary, and cleaning the department, stocking forms, and cleaning and supplying printers.

  • Member Service - exhibiting a professional demeanour toward others, unselfishly serving others, and assisting members, employees, and vendors in a prompt and effective manner while following company procedures.
  • Self-Motivated - being well-organised and able to prioritise, multi-task, and adhere to deadlines while working efficiently and independently with minimal supervising.
  • Team Player - cooperating well with various personalities and individuals and participating in a professional manner to accomplish the business goal.
  • Flexibility - adjusting positively to changes in direction or assignment, and being able to do more than one task during a work shift.


Qualifications



  • Education/Training: High school certificate or higher.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Responsible Service of Alcohol preferred but not essential.
