Senior Systems Administrator Position

This role requires a senior technical resource to join an IT team responsible for coordinating and providing operational third-tier IT infrastructure maintenance and support.

  • Key responsibilities include providing feedback to clients and management regarding the status of problems and service requests, undertaking change management activities associated with infrastructure provisioning, analysing, advising, recommending, and planning maintenance upgrades or enhancements requests for the Departmental IT infrastructure.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to research problems and resolve issues to ensure reliable and available services, provide third-level support and maintenance of the Departmental IT infrastructure, understand client's business drivers and contribute to client relationships by assisting in the performance analysis of client's infrastructure environments and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Other key responsibilities include developing and maintaining procedures and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement of ITS operations, participating in the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of whole-of-government IT-related initiatives, and providing and maintaining timely, client-focused network, problem, and service management for IT services and facilities.
