Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join our client's IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans for the IT category, including hardware, software, and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Strategic Sourcing Plans
    • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for the IT category, including hardware, software, and services.
  • Lead Supplier Negotiations and Manage Contracts
    • Lead supplier negotiations, manage contracts, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Analyse Market Trends and Drive Cost-Saving Initiatives
    • Analyse market trends and drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high quality and service standards.
  • Collaborate with Key Stakeholders
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to understand their needs and provide tailored procurement solutions.
  • Manage Supplier Relationships
    • Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and Develop Mitigation Strategies
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for IT procurement activities.
  • Report on Category Performance
    • Report on category performance, including spend analysis, savings, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Support the Implementation of New Procurement Technologies and Processes
    • Support the implementation of new procurement technologies and processes to improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in IT procurement and category management, preferably within a large organisation.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills.
    • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of procurement best practices and current market trends in IT.
    • Experience with procurement software and systems is an advantage.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
