Delivering Complex Solutions in Aviation Procurement

The role of a Procurement Manager within the Aviation C4ISREW & Training Support Systems (ACTSS) is to work as part of a highly motivated team to deliver complex procurement and contracting solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting procurement activities in support of ACTSS capability requirements, managing those activities to meet deadlines within stated terms.
  • Providing procurement policy advice, assistance, products, and services to facilitate risk management, ethics, and probity.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders relating to the Commonwealth Procurement Framework to manage procurement risks and achieve value for money.
  • Building and sustaining productive relationships with stakeholders and participating in team work to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Identifying impacts of changes to relevant Commonwealth procurement policies and recommending potential improvements to procurement practices.
  • Interpreting and providing advice on procurement policy and identifying alternative courses of action where appropriate.

The Army Aviation Systems Branch (AASB) purpose is to deliver military aviation systems to capability managers. AASB is responsible for the acquisition and through-life support of all Army helicopters and tactical unmanned aerial systems through Project Offices (PO) and Systems Program Offices (SPO) within Australia and overseas.
