About the Role:

The Director, Specialist Harm Prevention will drive innovative compliance programs that reduce workplace harm and improve safety outcomes for millions of workers across the state.

  • Develop and lead specialist compliance programs combining regulatory rigor with practical interventions.
  • Collaborate with industry leaders, co-regulators, and government partners to design initiatives driving behavioral change.
  • Provide expert advice on emerging risks and critical safety matters to senior executives and ministers.
  • Champion innovation in regulatory practice leveraging data to target high-risk sectors and emerging hazards.
  • Build and inspire a high-performing team fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

You Will Bring:

  • Proven leadership in regulatory or compliance environments focusing on harm prevention or public safety.
  • A deep understanding of risk management frameworks and data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills influencing across government, industry, and community sectors.
  • Experience leading complex programs and teams in high-stakes environments.
  • A forward-thinking mindset anticipating and responding to emerging workplace risks.
