As Director, Specialist Harm Prevention, you'll drive innovative, data-informed compliance programs that reduce workplace harm and improve safety outcomes for millions of workers across the state.You'll lead a team of technical experts—engineers, occupational hygienists, infrastructure specialists, and chemical safety professionals—who rely on your strategic direction to deliver high-impact harm prevention initiatives.What You'll Do Shape and lead specialist compliance programs that combine regulatory rigour with practical, risk-based interventions.Collaborate with industry leaders, co-regulators, and government partners to design and deliver initiatives that drive real behavioural change.Provide expert advice to senior executives and ministers on emerging risks and critical safety matters.Champion innovation in regulatory practice, leveraging data and intelligence to target high-risk sectors and emerging hazards.Build and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring Proven strategic leadership in regulatory or compliance environments, ideally with a focus on harm prevention or public safety.Deep understanding of risk management frameworks and data-driven decision-making.Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across government, industry, and community sectors.Experience leading complex programs and teams in high-stakes environments.A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to anticipate and respond to emerging workplace risks.
