Leadership Role in Workplace Safety

Safework NSW is seeking an experienced leader to shape and execute harm prevention strategies, protecting lives and shaping the future of workplace safety across NSW.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead specialist compliance programs combining regulatory rigour with practical risk-based interventions.
  • Collaborate with industry leaders, co-regulators, and government partners to design and deliver initiatives driving real behavioural change.
  • Provide expert advice to senior executives and ministers on emerging risks and critical safety matters.
  • Champion innovation in regulatory practice, leveraging data and intelligence to target high-risk sectors and emerging hazards.
  • Build and inspire a high-performing team fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:
  • Proven strategic leadership in regulatory or compliance environments, preferably with a focus on harm prevention or public safety.
  • Deep understanding of risk management frameworks and data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across government, industry, and community sectors.
  • Experience leading complex programs and teams in high-stakes environments.
  • A forward-thinking mindset able to anticipate and respond to emerging workplace risks.
