The role of a Health and Safety Manager involves overseeing the development and implementation of a comprehensive Health and Safety Strategy across various operations. This leadership position reports directly to the Executive General Manager of Health & Safety and works collaboratively with multiple teams to drive positive health and safety cultural and business transformation.

This is an action-oriented role that requires strong partnerships with site teams, project leads, and senior management to ensure the delivery of key safety initiatives. The Health and Safety Manager will lead critical risk verification audits, develop and monitor WHS management plans, provide training and support, and promote a strong safety culture through effective risk mitigation strategies.

Key qualifications for this role include a recognised occupational health and safety degree/course, Health and Safety Auditor training course, and qualifications in incident investigation (e.g. ICAM). The ideal candidate will also have 5 years of experience in a similar industry and 5 years of team management experience.

In addition to these skills and experiences, the Health and Safety Manager will need to be able to translate field-level insights into practical health and safety risk improvements, coach and develop health and safety professionals, and conduct internal safety audits and external audit participation.
