About the Role

Avant Mutual is seeking a skilled Claims Assistant Manager to join our Adelaide team in a permanent, part-time position (4 days per week). As a Claims Assistant Manager, you will provide support and advice to our members through managing Civil and Professional Conduct claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage member claims and investigations to support our members.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and support in the indemnification of claims.
  • Formulate a claims management strategy for the member to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Partner with Solicitors in the support of our members' claims as required.
  • Participate in the resourcing of the medico-legal advice hotline.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in legal, health, or business.
  • Previous demonstrated experience in insurance claims management.
  • Experience as a registered nurse or allied health worker is highly regarded and training will be provided on the job to become an expert in claims management.
  • A strong understanding of current health and insurance legislation.
  • A strong focus on time management and work management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Proven ability to work in an electronic document management system.
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
