Offering supportive services to victims of crime is a key aspect of this role.
About the PositionWe are seeking a Victim Support Officer who can provide expert guidance, support and information about victim services and entitlements.
This role requires working flexibly over shifts between 7am to 11pm across 7 days per week including weekends and public holidays.
Main Responsibilities- Delivering up-to-date advice on victim entitlements, support services and referral pathways to victims of crime and family violence.
- Communicating complex information clearly and accurately, responding to clients, stakeholders and team members in a professional, sensitive and respectful manner.
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- A solid understanding of the victim support service system and associated legislation.
- Experience in direct human service delivery where there are sensitive and complex needs, working from a trauma-informed perspective.
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive equivalent experience is highly desirable.
