Work Health and Safety Manager
This role ensures organisational compliance with all relevant WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice at both state and federal levels.
The Work Health and Safety Manager uses data insights and performance metrics to identify trends, improve safety outcomes, and foster a safe, engaged, and resilient workforce aligned with the organisation's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead the implementation of WHS strategies aligned with the organisation's strategic goals and values.
- Provide expert counsel to senior leadership on WHS best practice, risk and other WHS priorities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure WHS is embedded into strategic and operational planning.
- Oversee and manage the organisation's workers' compensation claims and early intervention processes.
- Accountable for regular site audits and safety inspections to ensure facility compliance with WHS standards and building codes.
- Lead the development, review, and implementation of WHS policies, procedures, systems, and frameworks across the organisation.
- Ensure policies and procedures reflect best practice and are inclusive of staff, volunteers, clients, and contractors.
- Perform the duties of the role in accordance with the organisation's Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles.
- Undertake appropriate WHS training and comply with WHS policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed from time to time.
- Expertise in Work Health and Safety.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
