Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Governance Officer to join our team at RAC of WA. As a key member of our corporate structure, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality governance services.

About the Role

In this dynamic environment, you will be responsible for assisting in delivering governance services, supporting Council, Board, and committee activities, and ensuring compliance with governance best practices and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile agendas and supporting papers for Council, Board, and committee meetings.
  • Prepare draft minutes and Chair's Reports for governance meetings.
  • Track and coordinate follow-up actions with relevant management.
  • Assist in organizing the Club's Annual General Meeting and Council Election process.
  • Maintain statutory records, including director and councillor schedules and declarations of interest registers.
  • Support the development and maintenance of governance policies, charters, and frameworks.
  • Manage resources on Diligent and handle ASIC filings for Holdings and subsidiaries.
  • Research governance best practices and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Advise stakeholders regarding governance processes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, or law (LL.B. or equivalent).
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and governance or legal environments.
  • Knowledge of director duties and basic understanding of the Corporations Act 2001.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Committed to RAC's values and leadership behaviours.
What We Offer

In return, we offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, plus benefits such as free Roadside Assistance and discounts on RAC products and services. You will also have opportunities for career development and community engagement.
