As a vital team member of the group's sustainability reporting program, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to mandatory climate-related financial reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will provide technical input and develop supporting papers on the application of measurement and reporting requirements in compliance with AASB S2, focusing on metrics and targets, scenario analysis, climate resilience assessment, and financial impacts and exposure.
  • You will assist in preparing the group's climate-related financial disclosures.
  • You will ensure robust documentation of processes and identification of controls to support climate-related financial disclosures.
  • You will actively mentor team members to support their professional growth and development.
  • You will provide expert support and challenge for finance activities and offer accounting advice for any business cases developed to support the climate transition plan.
  • You will build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across the group head office including finance, sustainability, risk, and underwriting teams.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a hybrid role that involves working from home and in the office to enhance work-life balance. As a financial reporting manager - climate, you will have extensive financial reporting and accounting experience preferably from an insurance or banking background. You will have a keen interest in climate-specific reporting and any prior experience within this sector would be highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have excellent technical accounting knowledge AGAAP/IFRS with a focus on standards relevant to our business. They will also have strong technical skills enabling analysis of requirements, commercial and practical application, strong project management and planning capabilities, and proven experience of dealing with people at all levels in the organisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive financial reporting and accounting experience preferably from an insurance or banking background.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge AGAAP/IFRS with a focus on standards relevant to our business.
  • Strong technical skills enabling analysis of requirements, commercial and practical application.
  • Strong project management and planning capabilities.
  • Proven experience of dealing with people at all levels in the organisation.
