Job Title: Climate Impact Specialist

We're seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Climate Impact Specialist. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions that address real-world challenges.

About the Role:

This is a permanent full-time position with hybrid working conditions, available at various locations across Australia. As a Climate Impact Specialist, you'll work closely with experts in natural perils modelling, pricing & engineering, and actuarial teams to develop cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analyses of severe weather forecasting, monitoring, and reporting data
  • Develop and implement natural perils information for re/insurance analyses and pricing model development
  • Communicate complex quantitative analysis clearly and effectively to stakeholders
  • Promote collaboration among cross-functional teams to drive innovation and growth

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Experience in meteorology, atmospheric science, climate science, or related fields (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD)
  • Proficiency in using statistical software packages (R, SAS) and geospatial software (QGIS, ArcGIS, or Mapinfo)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment
