Climate Financial Reporting Specialist

We are seeking a Climate Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing robust climate-related financial reporting processes for QBE.

This includes providing technical input and developing supporting technical papers on metrics and targets, scenario analysis, climate resilience assessment, and financial impacts and exposure. The successful candidate will also support the preparation of the Group climate-related financial disclosures and ensure robust documentation of processes and identification of controls to support climate related financial disclosures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement climate-related financial reporting processes
  • Provide technical input and develop supporting technical papers on metrics and targets, scenario analysis, climate resilience assessment, and financial impacts and exposure
  • Support the preparation of the Group climate-related financial disclosures
  • Ensure robust documentation of processes and identification of controls to support climate related financial disclosures
Requirements:
  • Extensive financial reporting and accounting experience, preferably from an Insurance or Banking background
  • Keen interest in Climate specific reporting, with any prior experience within this sector highly advantageous
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge – AGAAP/IFRS with a focus on standards relevant to QBE's business
  • Strong project management and planning capabilities
  • Proven experience of dealing with people at all levels in the organisation, strong stakeholder management experience and the ability to negotiate, persuade and influence within a global team
