Job Title: Engineering Programs Manager

UGL Pty Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Programs Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects within our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Project Engineering team to achieve project objectives.
  • Mentor and coach team members to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Develop and deliver training programs in project engineering management.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of individual projects in accordance with PMBOK principles.
  • Establish and enforce uniform application of best practice project engineering management principles across the organization.
  • Provide day-to-day project engineering management problem solving, solutions management, and performance improvement.
  • Monitor and report the output of project engineering teams to ensure correctness, quality, consistency, and on-time delivery.
  • Establish knowledge sharing forums and communications across the organization.
  • Represent UGL at technical reviews, arbitration, conferences, and other events.
Requirements:
  • An appropriate Engineering Degree from an accredited tertiary institution or equivalent.
  • Chartered credential (CPEng) or eligibility to attain through IEAust.
  • Additional relevant specialized training (e.g., MBA or Post Graduate studies in business management, culture change, project management, engineering management, commercial contracting, advanced negotiating, etc.).
  • Eligibility to obtain Rail Safety Worker status.
  • A thorough sound understanding and knowledge of manufacturing/fabrication principles and practices and proven experience of leading operations and projects in multi-discipline mechanical-electrical engineering design environment, preferably in rolling stock.
  • Strong Program Management skills and team leadership experience in shaping business with a track record of delivery on time and budget.
  • Well-versed in Design development under an assurance framework including Systems Engineering, Safety Assurance, RAM, and Human Factors elements.
