**Job Title:** Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Macro Recruitment. This is a permanent role within a large national heavy engineering design firm in Newcastle.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in project management, design, and development. They will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and design draftspeople, and will work closely with customers to understand their needs and deliver high-quality solutions.

  • **Requirements:**
  • Australian citizenship
  • Over 10 years of experience in project and design engineering
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop special vehicles, including ambulances, fire trucks, and management trucks
  • Lead a team of engineers and design draftspeople to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet their requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and manufacturing drawings
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the design and development process
