This role involves working hands-on with exotic and native Hawaiian species, including feeding, cleaning, maintaining habitats, and supporting enrichment activities.
Experiencing the Best of Hawaii
The sanctuary is located on the lush Big Island, offering a peaceful experience where you'll have purposeful tasks and free time to explore volcanoes, beaches, waterfalls, and island culture.
Making a Lasting Impact
Volunteers typically work five days a week, with two days off to relax or adventure. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact in wildlife care while living in paradise.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily animal care tasks, including feeding, cleaning, and habitat maintenance
- Participate in enrichment activities to stimulate animal behavior and mental health
- Support conservation efforts by contributing to data collection and research projects
