About The Position

Ventia has been engaged by the Department of Justice and Community Safety to deliver integrated facility management services, incorporating planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance.

The portfolio consists of diverse and complex properties, including minimum to maximum security correctional facilities, post-sentence facilities, youth justice centres, SESG training facilities, and community fire refuge centres.

We are seeking a Facilities Supervisor to coordinate service delivery at HM Prison Barwon and the Karreenga Correctional Centre within the Lara area's site portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in delivering hard and soft services that meet individual site-specific scope requirements, ensuring efficient, compliant, and risk-free operations without disrupting site activities.

  • Establishing and maintaining effective client relationships is crucial.
  • Providing oversight for site-based FM operations, ensuring services are scheduled and delivered to high standards.
  • Liaising with the client to ensure access can be provided to subcontractor employees.
  • Managing subcontractors at a site-level, ensuring subcontractor employees meet security, safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements before and during site visits.
  • Carrying out regular performance auditing work quality inspections and checks.
  • Acting as an escalation point for technical matters or complex building systems fault finding exercises.
  • Organising resources, material, and equipment as necessary to efficiently deliver services.
  • Ensuring administrative activities are completed as required, including reviewing services and issuing and completing work permits.
  • Assisting with scoping, executing, and delivering individual site-based CAPEX Asset Refurbishment Lifecycle Project Works and handover documentation across sites as needed.
About You

The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Facilities Supervisor in large, complex, and time-critical environments, focusing on both planned and reactive maintenance.

  • A passion for working with others, including team members from other departments.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience supervising others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an understanding of commercial risk.
  • A high level of organisation and the ability to manage multiple tasks, some of which may require competing priorities.
  • Experience with subcontractor management.
  • A strong understanding of health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • An unrestricted driver's licence.
  • Ability to undertake a National Police check and medical check as required by the contract.
  • Experience in leading multi-trade teams would be beneficial.
