Visitor Engagement Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Visitor Engagement Officer to join our team at the Immigration Museum. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and engagement to our visitors, ensuring they have a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a warm and welcoming experience for all visitors, orienting them to our museum venues and providing information on programs, exhibitions, and facilities.
- Process ticket sales and operate a computerized ticketing and booking system with accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service, resolving visitor issues and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist Public Programs staff in the delivery of programs and activations, including tours and presentations to visitors and VIP groups.
- Work effectively as part of a diverse team, contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Previous experience in a visitor-facing role is highly valued, but not essential.
- Competency with computers and point-of-sale equipment.
- Availability to work some evenings when Museum activities focus on something outside of the normal Museum experience.
- Ability to work as an effective team member within a diverse organization.
This is an ongoing Irregular Part-time position at 20 hours per week (0.53 EFT) based at the Immigration Museum. The salary rate on offer is $56, % Superannuation (pro rata) per annum. The successful applicant will be required to be available for rostering across the 7 days of museum operations, including weekends and public holidays.
